In 1977 Brian Boak’s mom called him a Beer Snob. Little did she know how accurate she was. Back in 1977 he was drinking Molsen Golden Ale, when most kids his age were drinking the cheapest beer available. This was before Craft Beer existed and when Imported Beers were limited.
Over time Brian expanded his palate by trying lots of different beers. Beer of the Month club was a great way to try beers from all over the USA.
In 1999 Brian’s kids bought him a Mr.Beer® kit to brew beer. He was instantly hooked. He started with brewing 2 gallons of beer. That quickly expanded to 5 gallons, then 10 gallons, 20 gallons and a few 30 gallon batches. After a few years of brewing he moved over to brewing All Grain batches.
Brian did not enter many competitions because he did not brew to strict style guidelines but to taste. Regardless of that several of his beers won awards at the limited events entered. In 2002 Monster Mash one a First Place along with two other beers winning second place. Several more events produced a several more awards. In 2005 Monster Mash won Best in Show at the NJ State Fair.
Eight years of homebrewing and many awards later told him that he should share his beers. The beers we humbly present for your taste buds are based on those years of brewing. We believe that one beer does not fit all food or all times of year. We will produce beers that will challenge your taste buds and expand your knowledge of pairing beer and food.
